Zumba for the Wii

Postby racechick79 » Sat Apr 21, 2012 3:26 pm

I just bought the Zumba for the Wii yesterday online, so I haven't received it yet. Has anybody had experience with the game, or with Zumba in general? I have heard so many people that love it, so I am hoping that it is fun and helps me enjoy getting back in the shape I want to be in!

I havent tried Zumbaa, but my girlfriend has a blast with Just Dance 3 for PS3 Move
You dance calories away and become fit in no time. The game even has a 7 day challenge which forces you to dance each day to lose 3,000 points which is basically dancing to about 15 songs which usually is about 45 minutes to a hour long

At the end of the week you are supposed to reach 21,000 points which results in a good number of calories burned. She's seeing results after the first week.

Its a workout and its fun, im sure Zumba will be even better if you are into it.

Thank you for the feedback. I am looking forward to getting it! I may have to look into getting Just Dance, too! I am just a little nervous about when I am going to do it since our Wii is in our main living room by a big picture window and I'm not sure that I want everybody watching me try to learn these dances. Oh well - exercise for me and entertainment for everybody else!

Let me know how you like Zumba for the Wii. I have a Wii, but have not done any of these types of games. Do you need the balance board for this one?

I haven't tried zumba myself but I know lots of people who have and they seem to really enjoy it. I hope you have fun and success with your new game :)

It is backordered, so I still haven't received it. But from what I read you do not need the balance board, it supposedly comes with a belt that you wear and then it tracks your moves through the belt (I am guessing so that it can track your hip movement).

I will let you know once I receive it!

We received the game in the mail yesterday afternoon and did it last night. It was a blast and I would totally recommend it to anybody! It does come with the belt and you put the Wii remote into the belt. There were so many songs to do right from the beginning and the better you do, the more that you can unlock which gives you incentive to do a good job and work out hard. We made it a family thing and all did it - even the kids were dancing with us. You can buy more belts if you want to and up to 4 people can do it. We didn't have additional belts, but if we weren't wearing the belt we just did the dances anyways. It was fun and I hope others get it. We were sweating up a storm by the end!

After having done it for a few days, I absolutely love it! I am sweating like a pig (and I don't usually sweat easily) after literally one song. You can choose from low, medium or high intensity. You can do classes or just a song. And you wear a belt with the wii remote in and gain stars for doing the moves correctly and with high energy. The fun part is that if you get 5 stars you unlock other things in the game. That is the part that I am loving because I am such a competitive person that I end up working out much longer than I intended because I want to get the 5 stars. Definitely recommend. (Although I don't like doing it with other people because I know I don't always look like them in some of my moves!)
