Canadian Wrestler Colin Daynes Banned Over Drug Test

Wrestler Colin Daynes of Vancouver has been banned from competition for two years by the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sports for failing an in-competition drug test in December.

Daynes tested positive for boldenone, drostanolone, furosemide and tamoxifen, all of which appear on the World Anti-Doping Agency’s list of prohibited substances, while competing at the Canadian wrestling qualification trials.

Boldenone and drostanolone are anabolic steroids, furosemide is a diuretic, and tamoxifen is an estrogen receptor modulator that is generally used to mitigate the physical side-effects of steroid use.

Daynes waived his right to a hearing, acknowledged the anti-doping rule violation, and accepted the two-year sanction.
