Do UFC fighters have a special diet before fighting?

UFC fighters have to maintain an extremely rigid diet regimen, and rarely cheat from that regimen with junk food, in order to maintain the weight required for their weight class. A UFC fighter’s diet will incorporate a very strict form of clean eating which will be high in protein and will include plenty of vegetables and whole grains. Fighter’s diet and nutrition will vary from one fighter to the next, depending on whether they’re trying to gain weight, lose weight or just maintain their current weight. Eating no longer is fun and enjoyable, it just becomes fuel for the body to endure the intense training sessions. When it comes to a fighter making weight, even water becomes a luxury.
