TJ Grant

TRAINING: I train 2 times a day 6 days a week. It changes from day to day, but for the most part I do all my conditioning in the morning sessions and the martial arts in the evening.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training when I was 15 years old. Me and my older brother were wrestling in the house too much and mom didn’t like that. So he got me into Jiu-jitsu first, then that led me to wrestling, and after high school I started picking away at my standup. It’s been a long process, but of course I did all the things kids do while growing up and wasn’t always so dedicated to training.

What ranks and titles have you held? None

Do you have any heroes? It’s gonna sound cliche..but of course Randy Couture! I have been a huge fan ever since I rented UFC 13

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? I am stoked! The UFC is the top dog in MMA. It’s every fighter’s dream to fight in the UFC.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? No

What was your job before you started fighting? I was working construction. Long days.

Specific accomplishments in amateur competition? I was a multiple time provincial wrestling champion in 2001, 2002 and 2004. I also represented Nova Scotia at the 2001 Canada games in London, Ontario. Competed in and won several submission grappling and jiu-jitsu tournaments in eastern Canada.

Ranks in any martial arts styles: I am a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

For Pre Contest Perfection Low Intensity Cardio
