TRAINING: Cardio and technique in the mornings and sparring, grappling or video games and donuts at night.  It’s been donuts and whole foods. Whole foods are good and donuts keep me sharp.

When and why did you start training for fighting?  Started boxing in 1992 and soon after started the MMA training.

Accomplishments in pro competition? Victory Championships middleweight title.

Ranks in any martial arts styles: Black Belt in Hillbilly Wrassling.

Favorite grappling technique: Left straight

Favorite Striking technique: Left straight again

Do you have any heroes?  So many guys from our gym have done well… I look up to all of them.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC?  It’s a dream come true. I’m determined to give the kind of performance that will get the UFC to bring me back over and over.

What was your job before you started fighting?  Landscaping and security.

•    Big pro wrestling fan – particularly of Ric Flair

•    Holds wins over Thiago Alves and Matt Wiman

•    Known for his striking, but has eight submission wins.

•    Has trained in Thailand

•    Won Submission of the Night award for win over Gugerty.

•    First fight with Stout was 10th best of 2006 on UFC.com; second fight with Stout was 5th best of 2007 and won Fight of the Night award.
