Raw veggies and proteins to boost metabolism naturally
Out of all the fat that one consumes through food, some fat gets burned and some accumulates. Metabolism is that process which determines how much body fat remains and how much is burned. If one has a very good metabolism, then even if that person eats a lot it won’t affect his weight much. On the other hand there are people who are very careful about what they eat and still end up gaining weight.
So if one has to lose weight, it is important that first metabolism be increased.
Bad metabolism not only accumulates fat but is also responsible for various health problems such as poor immune response, fatigue, lethargy and indigestion. A diet rich in proteins and also raw vegetables can help increase metabolism.
Food which has fiber helps in boosting metabolism.
Raw vegetables are the best and ample source of fiber. Include raw vegetables as much as you can. Make a sandwich with spinach and tomato.
Add some shredded cabbage to salads, wraps and sandwiches. Hot peppers can kick start metabolism. The spicier the pepper, the more it helps metabolism.
Add some to salads and other foods. The body mechanism can slow down if the body lacks vitamin B or magnesium. Eat asparagus which is rich in vitamin B.
Beetroots are an excellent source of magnesium. There are celery and broccoli which are known as negative calorie foods. Our body needs more calories to digest these foods than to take from them. Thus these foods decrease the calories without contributing any. Eggplants are also known to boost metabolism. You can always eat them raw or you can add them raw in other dishes.
Remember that eating protein give you the best boost for metabolism than eating carbohydrates or fats. Not only will protein improve metabolism but it will also maintain and build muscle mass. The more muscle mass you have in the body, the more is the rate of metabolism. One should incorporate a lot of lean proteins in the diet. Some of the sources of protein are eggs, tofu, chicken breast, fish, turkey breast, beans, lentils, lean red meat, egg substitutes, skimmed milk and no fat yogurt.
Remember not to only eat proteins. Our body needs all type of vitamins and minerals even carbohydrates and fats. Thus maintaining a balanced diet is important. Also do not depend too much on supplements because supplements cannot replicate the original chemical make which is present in real food.
