For healthy skin foods
Every woman wants to have healthy and glowing skin, regardless of her age and therefore, there is a great demand for beauty and skin care products and treatment options in the market today. It is not uncommon to see women spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars every year, on creams, lotions, toners, cleansers and other such skin care products. Unfortunately, most of these commercial products are very expensive and some of them do not even yield the results they promised, because of the harsh chemicals they contain.
Therefore, women have now realized that it is possible to get vibrant, glowing and healthy skin, by following a nutritious diet that is high in vitamins, minerals and other essential nutrients. Hence, by consuming a higher amount of foods for healthy skin, women can improve the quality of their skin naturally, without spending a lot of money.
Various Foods for Healthy Skin
Eating a balanced and healthy diet can work wonders for the overall health of the body, as well as the skin.
The skin requires nutrients like antioxidants, iron, Vitamin A, B complex, C and E, beta-carotene, selenium and zinc. Hence, there are certain high-nutrient foods that can have a better effect on the skin, as compared to others. Given below are some of the most common foods for healthy skin:
Low fat yogurt is very high in Vitamin A, which is known to improve the skin tone and complexion. For better skin, yogurt should either be consumed in high quantities, or it can be applied directly on the face, in the form of a pack.
Berries, like strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and blueberries are very high in antioxidants, which makes them great for healthy and younger looking skin.
Since the skin requires essential fatty acids, salmon should be consumed on a regular basis. For those people who do not eat seafood, flax seed, canola oil or walnuts can be very effective too. The high consumption of fatty acids is important for skin that appears to be naturally moisturized.
Green tea is high in polyphenols, which are known for their anti-inflammatory properties. It can help the body fight off the bacteria that can lead to skin acne, as well as the free radicals in the body, that can lead to early aging.
Several beauty experts use avocado in their products, because it contains essential oils and Vitamin B complex. Applying avocado on the skin can have a soothing affect of infections, rashes and acne.
Almonds are high in Vitamin E, which keeps the skin moisturized from within. Eating a few almonds everyday will not just preserve memory, but will also help the facial tissues preserve their youth and vitality.
Apart from the foods for healthy skin that are mentioned above, the consumption of a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables and a high amount of water can work wonders for the skin.
