Does This Is Why Youre Fat explain why, well, you are fat? Can This Is Why Youre Fat help you lose weight and get in shape? The short answer to both questions is yes. If you ever wondered why I love Jackie Warner, This Is Why Youre Fat is the answer. It is an excellent book that pretty much mirrors my thinking on the subject of why people are overweight and how they can lose weight relatively fast and get in top shape.

This Is Why Youre Fat claims that consuming too much sugar makes you fat. I cannot agree more. Our diets are overloaded with sugar and simple carbohydrates. The solution? Sugar detox to the rescue! It also encourages you to cheat on your diet, which is simply awesome. The majority of diets out there try to restrict what you can and cannot eat. They want you to be strict with your eating habits, which is a prescription for failure. This Is Why Youre Fat, on the other hand, says that you only need to eat healthy for 5 days, but on Saturday and Sunday you can eat pretty much what you want, within reason, of course.

As for exercise, This Is Why Youre Fat mocks crunches and other popular but utterly useless exercises that focus on small muscles groups (here is the best workout to lose weight and get in shape, by the way). It also says that short workouts are more effective than long exercise sessions, which is just music to my ears. In the book you will find a number of short exercise programs that do not take more than 20 minutes to complete.

Perhaps the main reason why I like This Is Why Youre Fat is because it makes losing weight and getting in shape fun. Lets face it – when it comes to weight loss and exercise, the prevalent perception out there is that both are definitely not fun, but that is only true if we follow the mindset of restrictive diets and prolonged exercise programs. This Is Why Youre Fat opens our eyes to the real deal – i.e., you can lose weight without any drama or stress, which makes the whole process a lot of fun. It goes without saying that the book contains everything you need to lose weight – exercise programs, menus, etc.
