Background

Written by Susan Kleiner, the sports nutritionist for the Seattle Supersonics, the book focuses on what anyone looking to get in shape and stay in shape should consume. Topics cover the right foods to provide a dieter the energy they need to work out or to help them get slimmer. The suggested powerfoods have other benefits as well, as they are meant to improve your skin, increase your energy and make you healthier and stronger. There are a list of foods provided that are meant to increase sexual energy and stamina.

What to Eat

Unlike some diets that mention foods in the passing and then focus more on what you can't have, this book is all about what you do eat. The focus covers the range of meals from breakfast to dinner including snacks that you should eat to meet the goals you have set out for yourself. Meals are low in the Glycemic Index to avoid the bad effects of glucose on weight and health.

The Good

Covering all of the meals and even fitting in room for snacks, the book provides the solution for any dieter not sure of what they should consume if they are just beginning their weight loss or fitness journey.

The Bad

Since the book only focuses on nutrition and consumption, there is no mention of exercise, which is needed to support proper eating. There is also no online support available, which can mean loss of commitment for some people.

Exercise

Recommended but not the focus of the book. However, the book does provide tips on what to eat to give you the energy you need to exercise.

The book can be purchased for under $14.
