Background
As the name of this book suggests, The Biggest Loser Cookbook: More Than 125 Healthy, Delicious Recipes Adapted from NBC’s Hit Show is an assembly of 125 recipes from The Biggest Loser. The book was written by a compilation of experts from the show as well as cast members. Additionally, The Biggest Loser Cookbook contains before and after photos from the show, and 50 color shots of food. Hosts Bob Harper and Kim Lyons both wrote forwards to this book.
What to Eat
The recipes in the book cover breakfast, snacks, lunches and dinner. Among the recipes include items like Ryan's Ground Turkey Nachos, Thin and Crispy Sausage and Mushroom Pizza, Thai Ground Chicken Salad, and Better Blueberry Pancakes. As you can tell, many of these recipes will sound very tempting and tasty to dieters.
The Good
Along with each recipe is corresponding information about calories, protein, fat, carbs, fiber, sodium and cholesterol. Many cookbooks don't include this type of detailed information, so this will prove to be extremely useful to dieters. Plus, this cookbook will be inspiring to fans of the show.
The Bad
People who aren't fans of The Biggest Loser might find this cookbook to be irritating, as it spends a lot of time discussing the show and its various contestants. Also some customers have complained that some of the recipes are just variations of different omelets and wraps. So it is possible that readers will feel as though even though there are 125 recipes, there isn’t enough variety.
Exercise
The book does not leave out exercise. In addition to the recipes, The Biggest Loser Cookbook includes trainer tips.
