Fashiorexia
The Fashiorexia program is rated 2/5
In the summer of 2008 an English Web site, MyCelebrityFashion.co.uk, surveyed about 4,000 of its female members and found that almost one in three forgo spending money on food so that they can spend more on clothing, and that they felt that this helped them to control their weight. This created a brief spurt of media coverage by the U.K. press, which dubbed the phenomenon “fashiorexia,” a portmanteau word coined from “fashion” and the eating disorder “anorexia.” This was half in jest and not a genuine attempt to identify a new eating disorder. Nevertheless, Various fashion and lifestyle magazines set out to “cover” this supposed trend, soliciting “victims.” An American writer set up a Web site devoted to fashiorexia, devising a tongue-in-cheek quiz that visitors could take to diagnose whether they were suffering from the syndrome.Fashiorexia Review:
