Eat This, Not That! Thousands of Simple Food Swaps that Can Save You 10, 20, 30 Pounds–or More!, by David Zinczenko, is a wildly popular diet book that has sold over 3 million copies. Part of the book’s focus is on finding the worst fast food in American and telling readers how to find healthier alternatives. The book has grown out of a column in Men’s Health magazine. Eat This, Not That is dedicated to educating its readers as to what fast food is the safest to eat. In this sense Eat This, Not That is less of a diet book and more of a navigation tool for people with a busy lifestyle or those who want to eat fast food.

What to Eat

Eat This, Not That focuses largely on eating choices at fast food chains and finding healthy alternatives. In this regard, the book could be a valuable tool for all those who know that they will eat at least some fast food due to work schedules or traveling.

The Good

No doubt educating oneself as to what are the better fast food alternatives is a step in the right direction. Eat This, Not That could save dieters hundreds of calories a week if used properly. The book also puts a spotlight on some of the more serious fast food offenders. 1,500 calorie cheeseburgers don’t get all the attention they deserve.

The Bad

This is more of an informational guide than a “how-to” book. But for those who diet and are eating fast food Eat This, Not That is a must have for the book shelf. _Eat This, Not That _ doesn’t have low-calorie alternatives for all the food they cover, but that isn’t exactly their doing either. As long as dieters see this book as a guide to eating fast food and not necessarily a diet plan to help them lose weight, they should be well-served.
