DietMinder Review:

Overview

The DietMinder Personal Food and Fitness Journal claims to be the “best exercise and food diary on the market!” The journal allows dieters to record everything that they eat every day, along with exercise. DietMinder breaks down food to account for nutrition including calories, carbs, fats, etc. The journal is 224 pages and has a leather cover. The makers of the journal believe that when the dieter sees everything he or she is doing written down in black and white, it will encourage commitment to the diet. The end result of using this journal is being able to monitor exactly how much one has eaten each day. The journal also includes “Favorite Foods Index” and “Progress Charts. ” Food Count information on 100 foods is included in the journal.

The Good

The makers of the DietMinder Journal offer a money back guarantee. They tell the customer to try the journal out for 3 days, and if a greater commitment to the diet isn't felt, they will return the money from the purchase price. The DietMinder Journal is reasonably priced, and easily available as it is sold at GNC and Barnes and Noble. The journal has gotten positive reviews from a variety of media outlets including Shape magazine, Health Magazine and even Dr. Phil.

The Bad

Although the Food Count information on 100 foods is included, that list likely would not be comprehensive enough. How are dieters supposed to count the nutritional breakdown when they go out to eat or when the food isn't included in the 100? This situation leaves the likelihood open that dieters end up giving up writing in the journal when it comes to the nutritional breakdown because they don't have the nutritional details handy.

Exercise

There is a section in the journal to record daily exercise. The DietMinder website says that section is very effective because if the dieter sees that this section is empty, he or she will feel guilty and start exercising.

Cost

The DietMinder journal sells for about $15.
