Cut Out Sugar and Lose Weight




Cut sugar, lose weight – is it that simple? Should you cut sugar to lose weight? Can cutting sugar from your daily menu help you lose weight in one month? Absolutely! Why? Ask yourself this question: What does sugar contain? Sugar contains calories, right? Right. Does sugar contain anything else? No, it does not. Sugar does not contain fiber or any other valuable nutrients that are found in fruits, vegetables, fats, and proteins. This is the reason why it is often said that sugar contains empty calories.

What can you do to stop consuming sugar-calories? Using healthy sugar substitutes is something to consider, but the best way to deal with them is to go on this little sugar detox program. The other reason why you can increase your chances of losing weight by eliminating sugar from your diet has to do with the fact that it takes a very short time to digest sugar. Why is it a big deal? Because you do not want to be hungry soon after eating something. But consuming foods high in sugar makes you hungry fairly quickly, which is not a good thing during a time when you are trying to lose weight.

In 2009, the American Heart Association set limits for how much added sugar people should consume daily: 25 grams or 6 teaspoons (100 calories) for women and 37.5 grams or 9 teaspoons (150 calories) for men. But you know what? I think these numbers are too high for somebody whose goal is to lose weight as soon as possible. If you really crave sugar, eat a handful of berries.
