Background

You can feel free to file this diet under the “famous person creates wacky diet” category. Charles Saatchi is mostly famous for being married to Nigella Lawson. Now neither one of those names are likely to mean too much to you if you don't live in the UK or are not an Anglophobe, but let's just state that they are famous somewhere. On one level, the Charles Saatchi Diet is pretty simple in that dieters eat more eggs than they can probably imagine. In order to lose his weight, Saatchi was eating nine eggs a day and little else. If you are wondering if this diet is for real, apparently the answer is a resounding, yes.

While this diet is a bit perplexing apparently it did work, at least temporarily. However, it cannot be stressed enough that this is NOT a safe or smart diet. The fact that a semi-celebrity went on a wacky, highly restrictive egg diet and lost some weight does not mean that you should do it. Some versions of the diet do allow for other foods to be consumed, but even on these variations, there are too many eggs and not enough calories.

What to Eat

One the Charles Saatchi Diet you will be eating lots of eggs. But you should realize that a diet this high in eggs brings with it numerous risks and health concerns. Stay on this diet for too long and you may see damage to your internal organs and spikes in cholesterol. You should also expect to have much less energy on this diet as well.

The Good

There is no way around it; skip this diet.

The Bad

With so many dieting options available there is no real reason to adopt a diet that focuses on one food so intensely. While eggs have received a “bad rap” in recent years, a diet that incorporates so many eggs is just a bad idea.

Exercise

Exercise is not a factor in the Charles Saatchi Diet.

Cost

This diet is most definitely sensitive to the price of eggs.
