Background
Carbohydrates cause blood sugar to spike, upping the production of insulin and causing fat to get stored, rather than burned. While low-carb diets may seem like the perfect answer, the truth is that some people may have a hard time cutting all carbs from their diets and will eventually give up in frustration. The carbohydrates addict diet allows you to feed those cravings once a day, while following a healthy meal plan the rest of the time.
What to eat
Three meals a day, two of which are a protein and veggies. For the third meal (which can actually be any of your meals during the day), you're allowed one carb, any carb.
The Good
While the overall diet is low-carb, you're allowed to eat one carb a day, which can be anything you want (yes, even cake). This means more people will feel satisfied and less likely to overeat at other times. You eat lots of green vegetables.
The Bad
Lots of protein, which can be a problem for certain people, such as those with kidney disease or high cholesterol. Aside from that one carb you're allowed during the day, you are supposed to avoid all others, which can prove difficult for people.
Exercise
No specific exercises recommended. Just a generally active lifestyle.
Costs
You will probably need to buy the book, as it explains in detail the diet and how to follow it.
