Bill Phillips Body for Life Diet Review:
Background
This 12-week plan was created by fitness guru Bill Phillips, who has a long history of helping people change not only their eating habits, but also their whole lives. The diet is based on the concept of eating more often but smaller portions, a system used by athletes and bodybuilders to keep fat to a minimum.
What to Eat
The only forbidden food is sugar, which you can only have once a week. Everything else, including carbs and proteins, is part of the diet. Vegetables are especially important, as they provide fiber and a feeling of satiety without a large number of calories attached to them. The diet requires you to eat six times a day. Lots of water and portion control are also key to the system. Examples of meals include tacos, peppered steak and banana cream pudding.
The Good
Lots of fiber and six meals a day will guarantee that you will never be hungry. Many recipes, meal plans and food options to choose from. No need to count or keep track of your food intake. The long plan (12 weeks) helps people learn new habits, rather than giving them an easy way out.
The Bad
Eating so many times a day can be difficult for people in the run. Protein shakes and replacement meals can get expensive and may not be a good long-term solution for everybody.
Exercise
Heavy exercise program six days a week. Both cardio and weight-lifting exercises are explained and a few sample routines are offered for those who prefer a more structured workout.
Costs
$20 for the book
Who Has Tried It
Bill Phillips himself is a celebrity, often speaking in TV and giving lectures and workshops around the country.
