Developed by Bob Greene, The Best Life Diet is not just a diet. It is a healthy lifestyle plan that is based on the idea that food is a pleasure and should always be considered so. You can lose weight while developing the best lifestyle and eating habits that will stay with you for a lifetime. The diet is divided into three different phases to get you going, maintain your goals and ultimately continue on with this lifestyle.
What to Eat
Eat only three meals a day, with one snack. A meal should not be eaten within 2 hours of bedtime. Drink a lot of water and take daily supplements. No alcohol is permitted. Food portions must be reasonable for the best weight loss success. Sample foods that are allowed are fruits, yogurts, vegetables, dark chocolate, salads, nut butter sandwiches and pear muffins. The website and book offers many sample menus to follow.
The Good
The website allows users to track what they are eating, their exercise and their calories. It also allows them to talk to others who are doing the diet. There are 75 pages in the book of recipes that can be followed.
The Bad
Dieters may have a hard time preparing meals daily from the list. It is strict for the first few weeks, which is hard for some to follow.
Exercise
Exercise should be done every day, from strength training, to aerobic activity to weight lifting. The focus is on staying active at whatever fitness level is right for you.
