Background

Fitness and diet celebrity Jorge Cruise created this 28-day diet plan first for a massive online audience and later with a book. It should be noted that the focus here is more on exercise and fitness than diet. Though diet does play an important role in this program, it is more of an accessory to the workouts. The goal here is to shed two pounds a week. Included as part of the program are daily motivational talks to encourage you as you go along.

How It Works

Dieters follow an “eating card” and are encouraged to stop sabotaging themselves by fighting the urge to eat emotionally. Some emphasis is placed on controlling the size of the portions dieters eat. Food-wise, things are classic and simple: vegetables, fruits and whole grains. White refined carbs are excluded. The key to the program is in devoting eight minutes to exercise every morning.

The Good

There is no calorie counting in this diet and fat is actually a part of the diet plan.

The Bad

Not a good diet plan choice for anyone who has a high body mass index. Must purchase three pairs of dumbbells to do most of the exercises.

Exercise

Exercise is the primary component of this plan. The program calls for strength training two different muscle groups every day. The focus is on adding muscle, with the idea being that doing so burns fat calories in the long run.
