Tips natural skin lightening




Everyone would like to have glowing and unblemished skin. However it’s quite difficult to escape from skin problems. These problems affect the skin on a daily basis and occur due to various factors such as excessive sun exposure, pollution, chemicals, dust and stress.

The increased consumption of junk food these days also takes a toll on the skin. All of this can make the skin appear dull and dark. You can take care of this problem with the following natural skin lightening tips.

Vitamin C
A good intake of vitamin C plays a vital role in skin health. It inhibits the excess production of melanin. Melanin is the pigment that lends color to the skin. When there is a concentration of melanin, the skin can become dark. Vitamin C also assists in collagen synthesis, a process that diminishes with age. Another benefit of vitamin C is that it has a regenerative effect on vitamin E, which is a powerful antioxidant that protects the skin tissue.

 

Sun Screen
The most common cause of uneven or excessive skin pigmentation is exposure to the sun. The UV rays of the sun can cause considerable damage to the skin. For this reason, it is essential to apply sun screen before you head outdoors. Use a good quality sun screen with an SPF of 30 or above to protect the skin from darkening and burning. Sun screen also helps to prevent redness and blemishes.

 

Healthy Diet
The skin is a reflection of the health of the body. Your skin may become dull and dark when you are not getting enough nutrients through the diet. Eat a healthy amount of fresh fruits and vegetables as they are rich in antioxidants and help to protect the body against pollutants. Avoid eating fried, spicy and processed foods as these may be difficult to digest and may also trigger early ageing. Also drink a sufficient amount of water to keep the skin hydrated and to enable quick healing.

 

Licorice
Licorice extract contains glabridin, a natural component with skin lightening properties. You can apply a thin coating of the extract twice every day after washing your face. The extract can be stored at home for long periods of time. Some people however, may experience an allergic reaction to licorice, so it would be a good idea to test the substance on a small area of skin. It is also advisable to consult your doctor before using this remedy.

 

Homemade skin lightening packs

 

To make a simple and effective cream for lightening the skin, add a few drops of lemon juice to a couple of egg whites. Heat the mixture until it becomes semi-solid. Pour the paste into a jar and keep it refrigerated. Apply this to the skin and keep it on for 15 minutes before rinsing.

To make a skin bleaching mask at home, boil a glass of water and add a teaspoon of dried fennel to it. Let the fennel steep for about an hour and then strain the solution. Add one tablespoon of buttermilk to the water, mix well and apply it to your face. Let the mask remain on for about 20 minutes and then rinse with lukewarm water.

A honey and almond face mask is also helpful in getting rid of a tan and restoring the natural glow of the skin. Combine one teaspoon each of lemon juice, milk powder and honey and add to half a teaspoon of almond oil. Mix well and apply to the face. Leave the mixture on for up to twenty minutes before rinsing.

To naturally lighten the skin, use a tomato and oatmeal face mask once a week. Add some tomato juice to oatmeal and apply to the face. Keep it on the skin for 20 minutes and then rinse with cool water.

Take some sun dried orange peels and grind them into a powder. Add some raw milk and stir into a paste. Apply this to the pigmented areas of skin daily. Rinse with cool water after the paste dries up. This is a traditional remedy for lightening the skin and getting rid of tan.

Gram flour is a popular tan-removal remedy. Add a few drops each of lime juice and milk cream to a couple of tablespoons of gram flour. Add a pinch of turmeric and then apply to the face. Once it dries, wash with cold water.

Potatoes help to naturally bleach the skin. Rub a slice of potato over the skin daily to lighten and brighten the face.

Combine some fresh cucumber, lime juice and papaya and blend into a paste. Apply a layer of this paste over the face and leave it on for half an hour, then rinse with cool water. This remedy can be used twice daily. You can even store the paste in the refrigerator for later use.
