Stay lean and release fat
Weight management, is one of the most controversial and contentious issue’s in the iron game. Regardless of age or experience, folks struggle to work diligently towards a greater aesthetic or performance level, despite their perceived best efforts.
It’s easy to pinpoint this to their lack of meticulous nature; they don’t plan enough; they don’t count calories; they’re lazy. But this is simply irrational and obsessive at best. A lot of us are making heavy sacrifices already dedicating a large portion of our time to training and eating correctly. Agonising over miniscule details that ultimately make you pay a hard price, is frustrating at best. It can be demoralising to some people.
Enter the solution. This is a tip I’ve used myself to great effect in the past, and coincidentally, my favourite author Jim Wendler wrote something practically identical to this a few weeks ago which reignited my thoughts. I don’t know why I’ve never had the urge to share this – perhaps I just thought people were destined to not manage their weight correctly and get fat trying to add muscle, or simply maintainn their bodyweight. I didn’t realise the acclaim this strategy would receive until I read Jim’s article, and was left bemused at the comments section of “Wow, what an awesome idea” continuously down the page.
Ok, are you salivating at the mouth yet?
Before each meal, simply have 1 scoop of slow-release casein protein, and either a piece of fruit or some fibrous vegetables.
Why? Because it’ll fill you up alone, stop you over-indulging and eating crap, and provide a great source of nutrients. Doing this 2-3 times per day will blunt large spikes in insulin and your appetite in general, ensure you’re never worrying about your protein or fibre intake, and even help with fat burning. Best of all, you’ll be satiated after each meal, and undoubtedly ‘anabolic’ for those who get excited at the very thought of the word.
They are the simple advantages to using the Stay Lean, Not Fat strategy. If you’re a bodybuilder looking to add muscle but have trouble getting fat easily, you’ll love this technique. If you’re simply looking for a way of maintaining your bodyweight or even losing fat, it can be versatile for these purposes too. Fruit and vegetables are pretty much devoid of a high calorific value – they’re also packed with nutrients which is a healthy incentive itself. It’s cost effective, tastes nice, and will provide an array of benefits. Eat the source most convenient to you.
