Problem of scalp fungus

Fungus could grow on different parts of your body, such as your feet, skin and scalp. A common fungus that grows on the scalp is the ringworm. It survives in wet environments and could be contagious.

Therefore, it is very important to keep the scalp area clean at all times, by washing your hair regularly and drying it out, instead of leaving it wet. One of the first signs of an infection on the scalp is a severe itchy feeling that persists, even after the hair is washed and dried. Fortunately, there are many ways in which you can deal with scalp fungus.

You can get rid of the fungus by applying some castor oil on the infected area, everyday, for two to three days. However, you should avoid touching the area with your hands directly. You can either use a small ball of cotton or wear latex gloves while applying the oil on the fungal area. Please ensure that you wash your hair everyday and then rinse out the oil thoroughly. You also need dry your hair. Drink a lot of juices (only natural ones) that contain vitamins which will help you to fight the fungus. In addition to that, you can prepare drinks made of aloe, cucumber, carrots and celery. Alternatively, you could take a supplement like B Complex, Folic Acid or Vitamin E.

Wash your hair, using an anti-fungal shampoo that contains small amounts of – Zinc Pyrithione, Ketoconazole or Selenium Sulphide. Using any one of these substances is very effective in eliminating scalp fungus. Apply the shampoo onto your hair and massage it deeply, onto the scalp and the affected area. Leave the shampoo on for about five minutes, so that it penetrates the hair and scalp. Rinse the shampoo out and reapply it. Use the anti-fungal shampoo everyday, till the infection clears up. The Margosa herb is known to have anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties and therefore hair oil, shampoos and conditioners containing Margosa can be very helpful in getting rid of a scalp fungus. If you can arrange for some Margosa herbs, boil a handful in plain water. Let the mixture cool a bit and apply it to your scalp, massaging the scalp gently. Leave the Margosa-mixture on for about five minutes and then rinse your head thoroughly, so that the herbs do not linger on the scalp. Use this remedy once, everyday, till the fungus clears. If the problem persists, consult your doctor and ask for some medication as drugs are normally known to destroy the fungus effectively.
