Keep it off lose weight

Obesity poses many risks to the health of an individual. There can be various reasons why people tend to carry so much excess weight. The rate of metabolism influences one’s weight loss regimen in a major way.

Those with a lowered rate of metabolism find it harder to lose weight as fat gets stored in the body. Some individuals may also suffer from hormonal imbalances which can affect their body weight. Most cases of obesity, however, are due to improper eating habits and a lack of exercise.

There are several dietary and lifestyle changes that will help you to lose weight. Unlike crash diets and other quick methods of weight loss, making permanent lifestyle changes will also ensure that you are able to maintain your ideal body weight. Drinking adequate water is very essential in any weight loss program. A daily intake of eight glasses of water is recommended. Avoid drinking carbonated beverages and sodas, and fill up on water instead. Water is very helpful in assisting weight loss. Meals can be divided into five to six smaller meals throughout the day. This will ensure that you do not overeat in a single sitting. Smaller meals will also enable the body to release a lower amount of insulin. This regulates the blood sugar levels, thereby controlling hunger. Those with sedentary jobs will benefit from regular walking. Walking for a minimum of 45 minutes every day will help to burn calories. Consume plenty of vegetables through the diet. Vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumbers and zucchini are rich in zinc and help to reduce calories consumption.

Avoid consuming too much of white foods such as white rice, white sugar and white flour. These are rich in carbohydrates and hence contribute to weight gain. Replace whole milk with skimmed milk as it is low in calorie content. During meals ensure that you eat slowly in order to allow digestion to take place properly. This will also make you feel fuller and prevent you from overeating. Avoid eating out too much as this restricts your intake of foods that are higher in fat and calories. Eat only when you feel hungry and not out of boredom, depression, anxiety or habit. Instead of drinking fruit juices, eat fruits instead. Fruit juice contains a lot of sugar which adds to the weight of the body. Also restrict intake of alcohol as apart from adding calories, it is also harmful for overall health.
