In your kitchen easy pain cures

The cures to several common illnesses and infections can be found in your very own kitchen. Our over reliance on pharmaceutical products and medications can have severe adverse effects, and with increased awareness among the general population about the consequences of such unrestricted use of strong medications there is an increased interest in natural cures. While natural treatments are not always an alternative or substitute for medical attention, they can at times be a safe and inexpensive alternative to pain medications or a viable treatment alternative to common mild ailments.

Here are some easy natural pain cures in your kitchen;

Ginger is known to help alleviate aching muscles and joints. It also reduces stiffness and swelling because of compounds known as gingerols. These compounds restrict the release of hormones which trigger pain.

To cure aches and pain, you may consume a teaspoon of dried ginger. You can even add a couple of teaspoons of ginger to your daily meals.

Apple cider vinegar is an excellent home remedy for heartburn. It contains high levels of acids such as tartaric and malic acids. These help greatly in digestion and enable quick breakdown of protein and fat. Since it regulates and quickens digestion, the stomach is emptied of its contents more efficiently. This prevents a buildup of gastric acids. To alleviate irritation and painful episodes of heartburn, combine a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and eight ounces of water and consume before meals. This should bring relief in about 24 hours.

A toothache can be an annoying problem and the best solution for it is cloves. Cloves contain eugenol, a compound with anesthetic properties. Chewing on a clove helps to reduce tenderness and inflammation. You can also add some ground cloves to your meals to give your heart a boost. Doing this helps to regulate blood sugar levels and also restricts production of bad cholesterol.

Cherries help to reduce pain in the joints as well as headaches. Those who suffer from bouts of arthritis and gout should consume a bowlful of cherries every day. This also helps to provide relief from chronic headaches. Cherries contain anthocyanins which are anti-inflammatory in nature. They work by preventing the production of enzymes which trigger inflammation. Cherries may be consumed fresh or frozen.

Garlic is found in almost every kitchen and adds a wonderful flavor to meals. Another important feature of garlic is that it also helps to cure earaches. Garlic contains sulfur and selenium compounds which help to destroy bacteria. Adding a couple of drops of warm garlic oil to the affected ear helps to relieve pain and discomfort. To prepare garlic oil, add a few garlic cloves to olive oil and simmer for two to three minutes. Then strain and keep in the refrigerator for two weeks. Before using, warm the oil slightly.

Stomach problems such as irritable bowel syndrome and indigestion can be alleviated by eating mint leaves and yogurt. Oily fish such as mackerel, trout, tuna and salmon can also be added to make for a tasty fish salad, as they contain essential fatty acids that help in reducing cramps and inflammation in the digestive tract. If you suffer from bouts of tummy pain and digestive problems, try to consume about 18 ounces of oily fish each week.

Salt helps to relieve inflammation and also destroys the bacteria and other germs that cause infection. Therefore salt is a beneficial remedy for foot related conditions such as infections and ingrown toenails. Add a handful of salt to a tub of warm water and soak the feet in it for about 15 to 20 minutes. This will reduce infection and pain in a matter of a few days.

A common problem that women face is premenstrual syndrome (PMS). The symptoms of PMS occur because of fluctuating estrogen and progesterone levels in the body. To obtain relief from PMS, consume two cups of yogurt daily. Yogurt contains considerable amounts of calcium which has a calming effect on the nervous system and also eases discomforting symptoms.
Sinusitis affects a large number of people and can create significant discomfort due to its chronic nature. Horseradish is your kitchen cure for this condition. Horseradish helps to improve the flow of blood to the sinuses and this enables proper drainage of the blocked cavities. Consume a teaspoon of horseradish every day for relief from congestion and aches that occur due to clogged sinuses.

If bladder infections are something that bothers you repeatedly, then the best thing to do is to consume a cup of delicious blueberries on a daily basis. Blueberries contain tannins which help to restrict the spread and growth of bacteria in the urinary tract.

Honey contains beneficial natural enzymes that help to ease inflammation and also promote healing of the body. Honey works very well as a cure for mouth sores. Simply apply a small amount of honey on the affected areas three to four times daily.

Everyone knows that water must be consumed in plenty to keep the body hydrated. But another interesting fact about water is that it also helps to ease pain injuries. Water dilutes and gets rid of the compound, histamine, which triggers pain in the injured areas.
