Importance of eating healthy for body
The importance of eating healthy means what we put in is exactly what we get out. In other words, what we consume has a direct affect on our overall health, well being, and physical fitness.
Our bodies need the proper vitamins and nutrients to nourish, repair, and rebuild them, protect against disease, and improve our emotional and cognitive functioning.
Reduces Risk of Disease and Illness – Our immune system needs the proper nutrients as fuel to protect ourselves. If we are constantly eating processed and fatty foods that lack the proper nutrients to feed our bodies, we are not fueling our immune system appropriately to protect us from disease.
Physical Well Being – It’s important to our physical well being that our bodies get the right nourishment. We are constantly putting our bodies under strain of daily activity, from the way we walk, sit, & sleep, to more strenuous activity like exercising or playing sports. Everything in our bodies is built from what we consume. We need to make sure our bodies are being fed the right nutrients to repair and rebuild our joints, tissues, muscles, bones, and more.
Emotional Well Being – Research has suggested diets that are high in processed and fatty foods can increase the risk of depression. What we eat can have direct effect on our emotional well being.
Improved Energy – When people are looking for an energy boost often times they turn to sugar and caffeine. These work in the short term, however, when the affects of these substances wear off our bodies’ crash and we crave more. This creates a rollercoaster of energy highs and lows during the day. The key is having stable energy levels throughout the day and the best way to achieve this is through a proper diet of nutrients.
The good news is you can eat healthy with little or no sacrifice on many of the foods you love. Changing how you eat is not difficult, but a does take some committment and effort. This doesn’t mean you have to deprive yourelf, be super strict, or be unrealistic about what you eat. However, it does mean need to arm yourself with basic knowledge of healthy eating and you should be conscious of what you eat.
