Hair loss controlling

Many people are worried about constant hair loss and the way that it will affect their lives. Loss of hair is a natural process and these lost strands of hair are, however, replaced by new strands of hair that grow over a period of time. Premature baldness and early hair loss occur when these strands are not replaced by new strands.

Hair loss can be hereditary. Medication taken for prolonged illnesses can cause an imbalance in the hormonal composition, leading to increased hair fall. Acute dandruff and drying of the scalp also contribute to hair loss.

There are a number of methods that help in controlling hair fall, but they may prove ineffective in people who suffer from hereditary baldness. A light massage of the head, with the tips of the fingers, will stimulate the flow of blood and natural oils to the scalp while removing dead cells from the scalp, thus strengthening the hair and encouraging the growth of healthy hair. A mixture of coconut milk and lemon juice will nourish the hair and give it a healthy look. Conditioning the hair with a mixture of olive oil, vinegar and mayonnaise is recommended because the olive oil gets into the scalp and nourishes the hair from the root. Mayonnaise contains egg and oil, which are both excellent mediums for nourishing the hair with proteins and giving it a healthy look. Vinegar cleans the hair with its property of acetic acid and also gives hair a glossy rich shine. Crushed cloves of garlic massaged into the scalp, is an age old method of stimulating the follicles and promoting hair growth. Similarly, onion juice left on the scalp for approximately half an hour will help in developing new strands of hair.

To reduce hair fall, it is advisable that excessive washing of the hair be avoided as it causes a weakening of the roots. Combing and brushing the hair excessively is also known to cause damage and breakage of hair and should be avoided. Dairy products, fruits, whole wheat grains and vegetables that contain vitamin B6 must be consumed on a regular basis because the vitamin prevents premature baldness. Stress can also cause hair damage, but this can be brought under control by remaining calm and relaxed. Similarly, damage caused by exposure to sunlight and pollution can be overcome by wearing a scarf to cover the head so as not to expose the hair to these damaging mediums.
