For teeth health- aloe vera

Everyone knows the great healing effect that aloe vera has on cuts, bruises, infections, and even burns. Recently, periodontal experts have started acknowledging it as beneficial for our teeth and gums as well. The soothing property of aloe vera has made it a popular skin ointment and it is being included for dental health purposes as well. Aloe vera has the ability to eliminate bacteria that result in gum diseases because of its antibacterial nature, which has made it useful in treating skin infections too. It aids in fighting organisms present in the mouth thereby preventing cavities greatly.

Other than that, it also cleanses and soothes teeth and gums. Aloe vera has a component called anthroquinones, which is an anti-inflammatory chemical agent that can heal injuries and alleviate pain. So, it carries out the cleansing process while providing a calming effect to the gums.

What’s more, aloe vera does not have harsh elements that can cause abrasions on the teeth or gums. So, it does not lead to dryness in mouth like some strong toothpaste tends to do.

Aloe vera is also a great curer of gingivitis, the bleeding and inflamed condition of the gums that can lead to many more severe problems. Because of its healing and anti-inflammation properties, if you rub aloe vera gel on your gums everyday, you will get relief to a great extent in about a month.

Aloe vera gel is also very effective in removing plaque, which is the primary reason for gingivitis or pyorrhea. What also makes aloe vera sought after is the fact that it has no side effects and there is no specific precaution you need to take while using it.

You can make your own mouthwash using aloe vera gel.

Mix one teaspoon of aloe vera gel with 1 cup water, ½ cup club soda, 10 drops of lemon essential oil, and four drops of vegetable glycerin. Mix all these in a bottle and shake it well and swish around in your mouth and gargle for about a minute everyday. This will prevent bad breath and promote oral health. Other than preventing gum diseases and infections, aloe vera gel can be used in conjunction with lemon juice to whiten our teeth. You can mix the juice of lemon with ¼ aloe vera juice and brush your teeth with the mixture. Lemon helps in whitening teeth while aloe vera will sooth the gums if lemon irritates them.
