For breathing problems remedies at home

Anybody can suffer from breathing problems, regardless of their age, gender, location, and so on. At times, these breathing problems can be severe and are accompanied by other troubles like intense coughing, chest pain or other such difficulties. The severity of breathing problems depends mainly on the cause of the problem, which could include respiratory conditions like asthma, colds, congestions, sinus, pneumonia, and other such conditions.

Most people prefer getting treatment from a doctor, to reduce the discomfort. However there are several home remedies for breathing problems that can be used too. The mode of treatment, as well as the home remedy adopted should depend mainly on the cause of the breathing problem.

Given below are some common home remedies for breathing problems that can be used for relief:

Boil a cup of sesame oil and add three tablespoons of nutmeg powder to it. Allow the mixture to cool and then massage the chest area with it.

Mix half a cup of coconut oil, with a teaspoon of camphor and apply the mixture on the chest, if a person is going through a breathing problem attack.

Boil a cup or water and add fennel seeds to it. Allow them to boil together, till the water reduces to half. Strain the water and drink it. In order to prevent the occurrence of breathing problems, drink this water twice for a few days.

Mix a dash of honey in some garlic oil and drink the mixture three times every day.

In order to get rid of mucus in the chest, boil some turmeric and carom seeds in water. Add a teaspoon of honey to this and allow it to cool for a while, before drinking it.

Steaming works wonders in clearing a blocked nose, which often causes breathing problems. Boil some water in a large dish and allow the water to cool a bit, for a few minutes. Then cover your head with a towel and bend over the dish, so that none of the steam can escape. Inhale the steam deeply, for as long as possible, preferably ten to fifteen minutes. This helps clean the nasal passage immediately.

Increase the intake of water to at least 12 to 15 glasses a day. Sipping hot herbal tea regularly can also help alleviate breathing problems to some extent.

Synthetic fragrances could aggravate most respiratory conditions, leading to further breathing problems. Therefore perfumes, air fresheners, or scented soaps and shampoos should be avoided, by people who are prone to such problems.
