For back pain- eucalyptus oil

Many experts endorse the idea of using eucalyptus oil for effectively relieving back pain. However, many people from the general population still have their doubts regarding the actual usefulness of this oil. Most experts who practice alternative therapies like aromatherapy claim that eucalyptus oil is much more effective in relieving back pain and other body pain as compared to many conventional and synthetic medications.

This is mainly because eucalyptus oil targets not only the physical pain but also provides mental relaxation, which helps you deal with the pain better. Massaging a sore back with eucalyptus oil helps in effectively relieving back pain because of its soothing and balancing properties. Simultaneously, inhaling the aroma of the eucalyptus oil helps calm the mind and therefore helps in relieving pain even better.

Since pain has a sensory connection, essential oils like eucalyptus oil are very effective in the management of pain. Eucalyptus oil contains powerful analgesic properties that are vital for any kind of pain relief. This oil helps in blocking the perception of pain and simultaneously triggers the appropriate emotional responses.

Back pain is generally the result of additional stress of any particular portion of the back. The lower back and middle back are problem areas for many individuals, especially those who spend long hours working at a desk. In some cases, back pain is also the result of muscle spasms. Overuse, injury to the muscles in the back and underlying kidney problems result in back pain in most cases. Many women suffer from back pain during pregnancy because of the additional weight exerted on the spine. Arthritis and spondilitis are two of the inflammatory causes of back pain. Bacterial and viral infections such as meningitis, urinary tract infections and radiculopathy are some of the other causes of back pain. Metabolic diseases like Paget’s disease and osteoporosis may also result in back pain in some cases. Eucalyptus oil is a natural pain reliever and is widely used in aromatherapy treatments for various aches and pains in the body, especially back pain. When massaged into the sore part of the back, eucalyptus oil helps in improving blood circulation in that area and boost energy supply in the affected area. As a result, the muscular pain gradually decreases. Another big advantage of eucalyptus oil is that it contains strong sedative properties that help in managing the mental aspect of the pain. If the pain is of a chronic nature it may also be the result of spinal injury or problems like spondylitis and a slipped disc, in which case you should seek medical attention.

Eucalyptus Oil for Massage

For effective back pain relief, you can even combine some ginger paste with the eucalyptus oil and massage it on the affected area. Eucalyptus oil contains effective antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties that are very helpful in relieving not only back pain but also other joint pains. Eucalyptus oil not only increases blood circulation in the affected body parts, but also improves the flow of oxygen to the brain, which greatly helps in the process of pain relief. Since eucalyptus oil evaporates very quickly, you can mix it with jojoba oil and use it for a massage. You must always buy eucalyptus oil from a reliable store so that its quality is not compromised.

Storing this oil properly is also important to minimize loss through evaporation and to preserve its properties. It is therefore best to store it in an airtight bottle. Before using eucalyptus oil for massages, it is important to shake the bottle well, especially if jojoba oil is mixed with the eucalyptus oil. For relieving back pain, the eucalyptus oil should be massaged into the affected area properly until it is completely absorbed. The anti-inflammatory properties of this oil may cause skin irritation in some cases. However, if the itching is intense, you can apply a cold washcloth to the area for relief.
