Menstrual cramps that are mild are barely noticeable at times whereas severe menstrual cramps may be experienced in the form of a sharp throbbing pain in the stomach area, bloating, a sense of heaviness in the stomach and so on. Such conditions would also affect the day to day activities of the woman.
One of the menstrual cycle remedies include using a heating pad that should be placed on the woman’s abdomen or lower back to provide relief from the discomfort and pain. Another natural cure for periods is to take two teaspoons of dried chamomile flowers and boil them in a cup of water for 5 minutes and then drinking this liquid after filtering it. One may also drink chamomile tea that is readily available to gain relief from the discomfort related to premenstrual syndrome and menstrual cramps.
Another natural period relief method is to maintain a regular exercise program which consists of simple exercises such as walking or jogging for at least 20 minutes a day. Exercising tends to elevate one’s mood and also reduces muscle tension. Home remedies for menstrual cycle include having some ginger root tea as it is found to provide relief form menstrual cramps. During their periods women should ensure that they drink plenty of water to avoid getting dehydrated which will further worsen the menstrual cramps. A natural cure for period cramps is to add some wintergreen or peppermint leaves to tea before drinking it. Alternatively one may also suck on a mint candy for relief from menstrual cramps. Some women have even observed that a natural cure for menstrual cramps is to have an orgasm as the repeated movement of the muscle tends to cause blood and all the other fluids to flee from the congested organs. This would thereby provide relief from the pain. Practicing yoga is also one of the effective menstrual cycle remedies as it not only provides relief from abdominal cramps but also helps one relax.
Menstrual cycle cramps can also be handled by taking a mineral bath with one cup of baking soda and one cup of sea salt added to the bath water. One of the home remedies for menstrual cycle pain and discomfort is to drink hot liquids such as warmed up lemonade and herbal teas. These liquids are known to increase the blood flow to the pelvic region which tends to feel cramped and congested.
