Burning pain in abdominal

The abdomen is the main body cavity in a human being. It contains most of the vital organs and it is here that the digestive system is located. The abdomen is the area that is below the chest and above the pelvic region.

The chest has a diaphragm located at its bottom end which is used in the process of breathing. The abdominal cavity begins below this. There is no physical division between the abdominal cavity and the pelvic cavity below it.

The abdomen contains the stomach, the liver, the gallbladder, the pancreas, the small intestine, the large intestine, the spleen and the kidneys. These are all extremely vital organs in the body and many of them are necessary for a person to live. Some organs like the small intestine can be modified or reduced in size if there is a complication in the person’s digestive system.

Pain in the abdominal region could be a result of an infection or physical damage caused to any of these organs. Generally speaking the type of pain and its location can help diagnose the cause of the pain and the subsequent treatment or remedy for it. A burning sensation is usually associated with a problem in the digestion process. The digestive system is made up of the primary organs for digestion which are the stomach, the small intestine and the large intestine. Other supplementary organs such as the gall bladder which inject bile into the intestine are also a part of the digestive process. A sensation of aching is associated with a damaged or inflamed organ. When the sensation is reported as burning, it usually means that the acid level in the stomach is higher than what the stomach and intestinal linings can take.

There are two possible situations when it comes to abdominal pain caused by acidity. Firstly, a patient suffering from gastroenteritis is likely to suffer from even normal levels of acidity. Gastroenteritis is an infection of the stomach which causes the lining of the stomach to become inflamed. An inflamed stomach lining is likely to be sore and have exposed raw flesh. This is not suited to acid that is used during the digestive process in order to digest the food we consume. Thus, burning in the abdomen can occur due to gastroenteritis. It is also possible that burning in the stomach is linked to an extremely spicy meal that has just been consumed. Both these conditions are sometimes accompanied by gas and slightly loose motions. In such a situation, visit your doctor for treatment.
