Burn more calories
If you want to lose weight quickly you’re going to have to burn more calories. In this article I will talk about a number of ways in which this can be done. Any of them will help but if you use all of them, you will find that you get better results.
1. Do a cardiovascular workout in the morning – Research shows that your body burns more fat when you do your cardiovascular workout in the morning before you eat. It seems to have something to do with the fact that your body simply lacks ready energy from your last meal of the night before. This forces it to use your fat stores for energy. You don’t have to do a very long workout but do make it a habit.
2. Work on your big muscles – If you want to burn more calories during your workouts you’re going to have to use as many muscles as you can. The way to do this is to focus more of your time and attention on big muscles. Just do more exercises that target your back, chest, and legs. You can and should train your smaller muscles as well. Just spend more time on the bigger ones and you will see faster and better results.
3. Do intra-set cardio – When you do a weight lifting workout, you have a short resting time between sets in which you let your muscles relax a bit to be able to get ready for the next set. Why not fill this time with a short cardio burst? Do some jumping jacks, run in place, or get on the treadmill for a quick sprint. This is how you use the time in the gym more efficiently to burn even more calories.
4. Set a challenge during each workout – I don’t want you to be in competition with anyone but yourself. However, what you can do is try to challenge yourself during each workout. You can try to lift heavier weights or do your exercises faster, or anything else which requires you to make a real and concentrated effort to which you may not be used to at the moment. A challenging workout is the key to greater weight loss, so be creative and challenge yourself often.
