Beauty dry skin tips

Dry skin can be a major problem not just during the winter, but can also arise due to the excessive use of harsh and abrasive cleansers. There are plenty of dry skin products available in the markets that help to tackle the problem and moisturize the skin. There are a number of beauty tips for dry skin that can help in minimizing the itchiness and dry scales of the skin.

Products for dry skin include moisturizers that help in reducing the loss of water from the epidermis (the outer layer of the skin covering the exterior body surface). In addition to eliminating the dryness on the skin, a dry skin care product can protect you against the dirt and grime, shrink your pores and provide a feeling of smoothness.

Moisturizers are designed to reduce water loss from the epidermis (the outermost layer of the skin).

In addition to preventing further dryness, they also act as a barrier against pollutant particles and dirt, make your pores seem smaller and offer a temporary feeling of smoothness. Do not indulge in long hot showers, as hot baths tend to worsen dry skin during the winter months. Opt for short and lukewarm showers and gently pat dry the skin immediately after the bath, and begin to moisturize right away. A moisturizer is an effective tool for dry skin and its use is believed to be one of the best dry skin beauty tips for immediate and temporary relief from dry skin.

Another important point to remember is to drink plenty of water in order to increase the body’s natural moisture level.

Staying hydrated all day long is extremely crucial in determining that health of your skin. Most people also experience dry skin while travelling in an air plane, and this is because the humidity in an air plane can reach as high as one percent especially on long flights; for people with dry skin it may take just a couple of hours of being in-flight to sap away all the moisture from the skin and the hair. In order to stay hydrated during and after the flight, reduce your intake of caffeinated beverages and alcoholic drinks while flying, as these can make matters even worse. Remember to keep a moisturizer with you at all times especially in your hand baggage for immediate relief.

However if you have recently started to experience dry skin and have noticed that the skin has turned inflamed, red and is extremely itchy, it is possible that you might be experiencing contact dermatitis. Consult with your dermatologist for a correct diagnosis and the right treatment. In the event of contact dermatitis, you may require additional help in the form of medicated moisturizers and emollients.
