Augmentation of scarless breast

Scarless breast augmentation has been a wish of women for many years, but now, it is a reality. TUBA, or transumbilical breast augmentation, can accomplish surgical breast enlargement without leaving any telltale signs or scars on the body. TUBA utilizes advanced surgical tools and techniques which have revolutionized how operations are performed in almost every aspect of surgical medicine.

Scarless Breast Augmentation / TUBA

TUBA procedures are performed through the interior of the navel. The belly button is the body’s own natural scar and is a perfect location for hiding the evidence of a surgical incision. Using the navel as an entry point, the surgeon is able to insert implants through the abdominal cavity into the breast interior. This surgical approach does not require any incisions on the actual breast, maximizing aesthetic appeal and drastically reducing the chances for surgical complications which might affect glandular or neurological breast tissue. Most surgeons who use this type of belly button incision perform the enhancement using an endoscope to help visualize the interior of the breasts.

Benefits of Scarless Breast Augmentation

The most obvious benefit of this procedure is the complete lack of visible scarring on the breast or elsewhere. Additionally, by not cutting into the breast mound, areola or nipple, the surgeon has less of a chance of damaging sensitive nerves and glands which are responsible for breastfeeding and sensory perception. TUBA can position implants in any of the typical anatomical placements including submuscular, subpectoral or subglandular. Women who undergo transumbilical augmentation do not have to worry about their new implants putting any pressure on fresh surgical incisions, often making for a more comfortable recovery process.

Drawbacks of Scarless Breast Augmentation

The main limiting factor of TUBA is that it can only be performed using saline breast implants. If this is the type of implant you prefer, then this procedure is perfect for you! Silicone breast implants must be implanted fully filled and can not be placed via the transumbilical approach. Some surgeons do not use an endoscope and can sometimes make surgical errors, especially when dissecting the pocket in which the implant will reside. Being that there is no visualization of the interior of the breast, the pocket might be over dissected, potentially causing implant migration issues after surgery, such as bottoming out or synmastia. Proper TUBA procedures are as safe and effective as any other means of achieving augmentation.

Recommendation on Scarless Breast Augmentation

The main criteria for choosing a surgeon to perform scarless breast enlargement is EXPERIENCE. Of all the enhancement procedures, TUBA really requires real world expertise to create the best surgical results. Make sure that your chosen doctor has vast sums of experience actually DOING this procedure…not simply watching or assisting. All in all, TUBA is an incredible option for women who desire larger breasts, but do not want to risk scarring which might spoil their results. Transumbilical enlargement is perfect for black or Asian women who demonstrate higher risk factors for developing problematic scars.
