Pitching

Pitching

Do the pitchers still have a chance of winning the twenty games on a regular basis or striking out the players like they normally would. I mean with the moving of the mound, it seems like it is a hitters league anymore. What are your thought?

I do not think the pitchers will come back to this level anymore. They are rushed through the minors, but then they are basically thrown to the wolves because of them being exposed to big league hitters almost right away.

Sure they do. Just pitch better and more economically. Or go play for the Rangers where the pitchers are expected to finish what they started. Ivan Nova won 16 games last year and was sent back down to the minors for a stint of starts just to make room for someone else. He was close to getting another four games or so.

I did not know the Rangers did that. I know they are a good team, but I did not know they did that to their starters to allow everyone to get a chance.

They are owned by Nolan Ryan, a man that often pitched late into games. He doesn't believe in pitch counts or six inning limits. He expects them all to go at least 7 and would prefer 8.
