It may seem silly but there are people who are unsure what kind of meat they should eat. The Paleo people like it full of saturated fat while others still eat lean. What is your choice?
I do a blend of meats. I also use only pasture raised, grass fed beef or pork. Then I do not have to be concerned about the meats being loaded with all the different chemicals or corn fattening like the other meats. If you are able to get these it is easy to avoid having a ton of fat for meats without having to worry about lean this or lean that.
For me, good, healthy meat is meat that can still be safely consumed. I don't buy cheap cuts, so I'm not worried about the standards of Atkins, Paleo or the 5% Nation. I eat meat, pork, chicken, lamb and seafood.
I don't know if this has an effect on my fitness (My doctor says I'm doing pretty good) but I love to eat venison. I have to pace myself with it because too much isn't good for you but I think it tastes better than any other meat I've had.
Chicken breast! Nothing can beat chicken breast. It's nutritious, it's cheap, and it's delicious. Any type of steak meat is good and healthy. Sirloin, loin, etc. Real men usually eat them bloody. Blood is healthy. Other than CB, there's always fish (if you count it as 'meat'), although fish is more expensive.
Lamb! A lot of people have never tried Lamb, but it is great, healthy and full of protein. Being Greek, we always roast a full lamb during easter. Also, Chicken breast is great.
We need fat, animal fat is good for you, all of the omega-3 fatty acids and many of the nutrients are in the fat. However, bad quality meat contains a higher proportion of omega-6 and the toxins are stored in the fat.
I don't eat meat, but I think the healthiest meat to eat is baked or broiled chicken hands down. I've read so many health books that it would knock your socks off and all of them highly recommended chicken.
