Are their levels or grades ?

Are their levels or grades ?

I am curious about bodybuilding and how you measure your progress. Are there levels you can test for ? Or maybe grades or belts like in Martial Arts ? I can understand you can measure your strength and power in lbs but I would imagine it is more than just weights ... Thank you for helping understand !

There are no grades or belts. Bodybuilders are judged on appearance, the judging is subjective. Some judges will value size over symmetry, for example. You compete at different levels - local, regional, state and finally national competitions. You need to be very good to compete at national level.

Yep! Depending on your size, there are different weight classes. Normally to compete at bigger events, you start from winning local and state events, which all take large amounts of dedication.

I think the advice you were already given is good information. However, you may need to research some of the local competitions because they may have some type of class or grade which you may fall into.

Not so much in the way of levels or grades like you have with Karate, but they do have weight classes in most places. So you may want to look at this as well. Then you can determine if the class is present or not.
