Home made snacks

Postby Bodybuild » Sat Jun 02, 2012 11:09 pm

When working out intensively (2-3 hours a day), my 3 meals a day are not sufficient and I need snacks.
Now one of my hobbies is to make my own snacks at home ... here are my favorites:
* Banana bars: cereals, banana, nuts, eggs, flour, milk, sugar, margarine .. in bread machine to cut in bars
* Yoghurt: greek yoghurt as seeding, milk, 4 hours at temperature in yoghurt machine to drink
* Dried fruits: apricots, pears, apples, figs from the garden, 30hrs 150F in the oven drying
These are really delicious and not too much work .. Do you have your own home made snacks ? Love to share !

I love the homemade snacks! I do not know about all that you make, but I really like to make my own trail mix.

I eat nuts and seeds for the occasional snack. Another snack I enjoy is courgette hummus make with a skinned courgette and the regular hummus ingredients - garlic, tahini and lemon juice. Courgette hummus is good if you are cutting carbohydrates and it tastes just as good as chickpea hummus.

I usually just eat hummus and rye crackers for snacks. The only thing I would ever prepare from scratch is the hummus.

I also make my own snacks. The idea of this is to avoid boredom and habituation to foods. I will consider some of the recipes that you shared and I'll add it to my routine food. This type of food is really delicious and means extra energy added to the course of the day.
