When do you train?

Postby AvalonX » Tue May 29, 2012 7:10 pm

I could never train in the morning so its usually pretty late for me around 8pm when the kiddies go to sleep. Just wondering when other working folks get their lifts on.

I try to workout in the morning right after I get up. I am not a morning person so it helps me get moving. It doesn't always happen, but I have gotten better at getting up and moving. I have also found that if I work out in the mornings, I feel better the rest of the day than if I wait until later in the evening.

When I went to a gym, I would get up before work to do my cardio and then went to the gym later in the day. Even when I work out at home, I try to split up my cardio and lifting. Either way, for the most part, I like to workout as early as I can, so I don't make excuses as to why I don't do it that day.

I do my training when I have the extra time. I know this sounds bad, but usually this involves me incorporating my routines into my daily life. For example my cardio is more of a running back and forth between the gardens or playing ring around the coop with my chickens.

Doesn't sound so bad if you are getting it done. Whenever you can get to it is the right time if you think about it. Well, as long as you get to it.

Your training shouldn't be reserved for the "extra" time ... You need to workout every single day. That's the easiest way to stay in shape :).

No, they should not work out every day. Your body needs time to rest in between workouts. Now, if your suggestion is for some sort of activity on a daily basis, that is different. On a person's off day, they should engage in something that would fall under the category of active recovery.

I train fairly late at night. That is when I seem to have the most energy. I have tried working out in the morning but I just can not do it, I feel too weak then. I get the best workout at night.

Early evening seems to be the best time for me. I am not a morning person at all, so waking up early to work out is not really an option. If I work out to late, it keeps me awake at night. So I shoot for about 6PM. Gives me enough time to get a good workout in and still be able to relax enough before sleep.

Since I'm going to college now, I'm going to be busy. Back then, I used to go to the gym 6 days a week every morning or afternoon. Depending on the schedule, most of the time I got there around 7-8am, sometimes even 10-11am. The time doesn't really matter, what matters is that I finished the workout. Since I got my schedule for this semester, I'm planning on squeezing a time at the gym after my classes.
