Intermittent Fasting

Who here does it? How exactly do you do it? Please include sample meal plans and if you count calories or not. Do you load carps post workout? I read leangains and my head was going to explode. I think many could see results with a much simpler version.

Wow I can't believe the one day that I come to these forums and don't check the new posts is the one day that I see a similar topic.
I am interested in fasting. I have been for a long time now. Its just that whenever I say that I'm doing it, people act like I said I throw up every day.

I know people who do it and they say its awesome. Its basically fasting for 16hours then getting all your macros in within an 8 hour window.

When I read leangains there were specifics with counting calories and such. Most of them loaded carbs post workout which would be difficult for me.

I would load carbs early on in the day but even then I'd keep them to a minimum. As long as your still hitting your Macros you'll be good to go.

Right, hence the calorie counting. I guess there is no way around it.

Counting calories is not as bad as you think. I use a speadsheet on my laptop so it works out all my figures for me.

I don't think fasting is a good idea. I think that would force yourself to hold onto the stored fat even longer. In my opinion just watch what you eat and moderate exercise will be key.

I have been doing intermittent fasting for about 4 months now, I love it! Lean Gains is fairly simple.

I eat my last meal at midnight and I fast for 16 hours. I break the fast at 4pm with a big meal, high in protein (at least 60g), lots of vegetables and fat. I then train at around 6pm, have a protein shake post-workout. I have a big post-workout meal an hour or 2 later, this is when I eat carbs, usually sweet potatoes. So 3 meals and a protein shake.

I do not focus on calories, I ensure I eat at least 60g of protein per meal and I eat quite a lot of fat. Carbs are restricted to post-workout. I follow a paleo style diet.

My brother does IF too, his routine is slightly different. He has his last meal at 8pm. He breaks the fast at midday, he then has a pre-workout meal at 6pm, followed by a shake and post-workout meal at 8pm.

I wouldn't worry about calories, focus on the quality of the food, nutrients, rather than calories. The rest will fall into place. If you are not gaining weight, you know you need to increase calories, it's simple!

Shaun since you are Paleo what are your carb sources? I am assuming tubers. How much approx. post workout carbs do you have?

The one thing about Leangains was on off days you calories were less. How do you work that out?
