is paleo diet for you?

Postby emunah73 » Wed May 16, 2012 11:14 pm

I was researching all kinds of diets not to lose weight but just to eat the most healthy food and that's how I came across paleo diet. I tried it for the short time and I must say it's not for me. I simply feel much worse after eliminating wheat from my diet and severely reducing grains. Is there anyone here with a similar experience?

There is no way I would be able to eliminate wheat from my diet. It's an essential part for me personally.

You felt worse when not eating grains, that is strange. What foods were you eating in place of grains? How did you feel worse? Did you feel low in energy?

I am Paleo and I feel better than ever on a Plaeo diet, it is our natural diet.

I try to cut wheat and grains often, but I find that I am always hungry when I do so. How you do compensate the lower amount of filling grains without gorging yourself? I am very intrigued by this diet, and when I successfully eat a meal without grains, I definitely feel cleaner. The cravings, however, are very hard to deal with due to the limited information I can find.

Last year my Wife basically became a Paleo tard. The most common converts to going Paleo are Vegans. The main question is whether it is a like a religion to you or it just makes sense. For me, I don't do it because some caveman did or didn't eat it. To me it just makes sense. I suggest reading the primal blueprint.

I've never heard of this diet. I thought I was pretty up on the fad things too. :D I will have to do some research to find out what this is so I know what everyone is talking about.

Protein, fat and vegetables will not give you the bloated feeling you get from grains. You shouldn't confuse feeling satiated with feeling bloated. Paleo is generally low-carb, but you can follow a higher carb template so long as the carbs are from tubers etc and not grains.

This is true Shaun. Withing a day of me coming off the rails when I am stuck on the road I get all bloated. The processed crap I eat on the road sometimes is just garbage.
