Jamaal Charles?

Jamaal Charles?

So with Hillis going to the Chiefs, do you think that they are worried about Jamaal Charles being able to bounce back from his early season ending injury last year? For those of you who are into fantasy football, would you rank Charles high like he was last year and would the Hillis trade influence where you would draft him?

As with any picks you are going to have some surprises. I know I was surprised by some of the choices which were made. Hopefully the teams who selected are happy with what they are getting and then they can know for certain if they made the proper choice or not.

Charles could easily be the top running back in fantasy football. He could just as easily suffer a season ending injury early in the year. If his injury has cost him any of his speed, he might be a major disappointment. Speed is what makes him, he doesn't have the power to break tackles or run over people. So a reduction in speed could be painful for fantasy football owners that are counting on him. The key is to see how he looks those first couple preseason games.

I think acquiring Hillis was more about making the team better and writing off McCluster as a RB. If Charles is healthy, Hillis will provide versatility to the backfield.

I think them getting Hillis was more of a back up plan. I mean you can never really count on a player to make it through an injury at the same time. So you have to think about it more of an insurance plan if you ask me.

They'll have plays for Hillis and plays for Charles. If either of them goes down, adjustments are going to be made or the healthy one will see an increase in workload.

I took Hillis in fantasy as one of my backups because I think after the turmoil in Cleveland he is ready for a fresh start without having to be the face of the team. He splits carries and will make a decent impact. The one year contract is lingering over him and he wants to sign something big and retire.

If I draft Charles I will most likely be handcuffing Hillis with him. Just like any one who drafts perterson should also get Gerhart. If they don't they will be struggling the first half the season with points.

Personally I would love to have Gerhart as a RB3 in all formats since it is more than likely he will take a lot of reps for the first half the season.
