Here i will be showing you how to make a excellent dish that you will be amazed at the taste and ease to make.
But first a little history on this particular dish. Bourbon chicken is generally credited to new orleans and is a popular dish there.
many people think it gets its name from bourbon st but really it is named for the alcohol in it. not saying it doesnt come from bourbon st but its exact origin will most likely never be known. many restaurants call it bourbon st chicken to avoid having to use bourbon in the recipe.

anyway here is the recipe

2 pounds cubed chicken breast
1/2 cup bourbon whiskey
1/4 cup white sugar (or brown sugar if you want a more robust flavor)
1/4 cup soy sauce

simple huh? just wait till you see how it tastes

ok in a large sauce pan on high heat add the chicken sugar and soy sauce. next add the bourbon ( it may caych fire if you dont add the other ingredients first) if the bourbon ignites dont panic just let it burn down its a alcohol so its expected to burn.
cook for about 10 to 15 minutes till chicken is done and sauce thickens.
serve over rice for a authentic meal.

This sounds great. I have tried bourbon chicken when I was eating out. I have not tried to make it at home. This is a super simple recipe. I'll try it out and let you know how it turns out.

Awesome recipe, but isn't it too much on the carbs? All that sugar and alcohol...

I would love to make this myself. But, I'll probably wait until I have someone else around that is used to flambe as a cooking style, so they can walk me through it. This would be a nice meal after a cut.

I used to love this in the mall when walking through the food court and trying samples. One of the things I had heard though was that this dish has a ton of calories, something close to 1,000 in an average serving. From your list of ingredients I'm guessing the calorie count is lower for this version? Any idea how many calories per serving?

Hmm, I had not thought about the calories. That is a consideration when you are working out and trying to shed pounds. I wonder what modifications you could make to make it a bit healthier?

This sounds like a great recipe! I will have to try this the next time I make some chicken. Tonight I had a pasta dish so it would not have went well with this chicken!

I am going to try this recipe but I will put it in the crock pot for a few hours and then serve it over rice. I bet it will be awesome.
