Bread

Postby dmeagher » Thu May 10, 2012 3:21 am

Hey guys, hope it's going great!

Anyways, I have a question about bread..

Is it better to eat white bread or another type of bread (rye, whole grain, etc.)?

I'm just wondering because I will start eating differently if you change my opinion. Currently, I always eat white bread with my sandwiches.

it depends for maximum protein and such a dark bread like pumpernickle or rye is better then white. lowest in calories is white though so it depends on what you want it for

Often times an alternative bread to white will still contain enriched flour or wheat flour which is used to also make white bread. Names like wheat, whole bran, stoned wheat, 12 grain and others are still mostly white flour, so make sure you check your label if you decide to switch up your choices.

The main reason why using white flour is refined grains, like the flour used to make white bread, have had the fiber-dense bran and the nutrient-rich germ processed out, leaving only the starchy endosperm. This means that refined grain is not as rich in essential fatty acids, vitamin E, magnesium, and zinc.

Bread made with wheat flour is one of the worst foods you can consume, wheat is one of the most offensive and harmful 'foods' we can eat. Wheat contains anti-nutrients and inflames the gut because our bodies have not had enough evolutionary time to adapt to this new food.

How about you actually post something to back this up? Every thread that mentions grain/wheat you say the exact same thing yet can't back it up. I even posted a response to you in another thread and you just ignored it.

Yeah let's explore this more because I want to know if it's true. This would be alarming to me actually.

My rule of thumb for bread is : the grainier it is the better. Try getting whole wheats and ryes. Stuff like that is really really healthy.

Is bread a big part of your diet?

What bread do you eat personally?
