Is It To Late For Teams To Pull It Together

Postby Isabellas2007 » Tue May 08, 2012 3:52 pm

Some teams are constantly on the lookout for a way to improve their play. However, other teams are enjoying the cellar and deserve to be their. Can these teams still pull it together in a timely manner to get back to glory all teams aspire to have?

Sometimes will, most of the won't. It would be nice if all team were in their glory days but it's just not practical. I hope the Yankees make a run though, they're my team. What about you or anyone else?

I really like the Cubs, but I know they will not make a run. They have never made a run since I was born. Then when you think they are getting close it ends up slapping ya in the face.

In terms of time to pull it together teams can do this as long as they are not eliminated. The key factor is which teams will actually do this versus those that do not. So this all depends on the manager and how well they can get the results for the team.

It depends on how far back the teams are in the standings. Being seven or eight games back in May is OK. You have plenty of time to gain ground. Being that far back in late August means that you basically have to pull a miracle out of your hat to have any chance at making the playoffs. To do that, you have to not only pull together as a team, but your pitching(especially your bullpen) has to be absolutely stellar down the stretch. You also have no room for new injuries to key players. It can be done, but it is tougher than many people think. :x

Definitely. Ask the Red Sox and the Braves last year if it was too late for someone to make a run and boot their asses from playoff contention.

It seems impossible for teams like the Cleveland Browns, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Cincinnati Bengals to become a contender, but the tough teams keep on kicking until they finally start winning. The best example of that would be the Detroit Lions. For years they have been a laughing stock. Even when they had the greatest player in their history, Barry Sanders, they hardly ever made it to the post season. But if they play football this season the way they did in 2011, watch for them to make it to the Superbowl.
