I love this website for customizing my diet plan because I'm terrible at picking out healthy foods. This ensures you're getting an appropriate amount of nutrients and will give you a list of food options. It used to be MyPyramid.gov, but the government is moving away from the pyramid since the plate gives a better understanding of portion sizes. Check it out if you get a chance!!

Whenever I want to count calories I always turn to mydailyplate.com, however the site you posted seems like there is more to it than the one I use.

On http://www.choosemyplate.gov you can click on the specific food group and it tells you which foods are good to eat.Be sure you are eating more fruits and veggies everyday. At least half your meal plate should contain them. You don't necessarily have to limit calories if you eat lots of fruits and vegetables daily. Just limit the consumption of empty calories. Also,be sure to exercise at least 60 minutes a day, most days. Cardio and weight bearing exercises together will increase metabolism and help with weight loss overall.

The only thing which has me concerned is it is a .gov site. So this means it is run by the government and I know they already try to control to much. I will always try to avoid using their sites if I can.

I like using this website as a guide. It helps to remind us of what we should be eating and how our plate should "look." There are some other excellent dietary and related resources on the website as well.
