What do you take your shakes with?

Supplements. There are a million of them out there, but how do you know which ones really work? Offer your supplement review or read others'.

It says to take it with water on mine but I have had some before that I mixed with milk. If you think about it a little bit it's just more calories. For people who are trying to gain the most weight why not just drink it with chocolate milk? I feel like I wouldn't take it with anything else other than water or milk or at least I have not tried that so far.

So what do you guys take your shakes with?

I add milk powder into my shake and add water. It seems to enhance the taste and since my protein powder is chocolate flavored, it tastes just like chocolate milk.

Water or milk is fine. With water it will digest faster.

I drink the bulk of my shakes with milk. I don't drink my shakes in relation to my workouts, I have other things for that. I drink one in the morning to start the day and ease into eating. I drink one or two during the day as a sweet, but healthy snack.

I drink one before bed, and that's the only one that I just use water for, to have some protein overnight. I could still use milk, but that particular shake is thick enough with just water.

I also put in fitness fiber in the day shakes.

As to your suggestion for chocolate milk. There are a lot of people that simply drink that after their workouts, so that's a consideration for you also.

If its a morning shake I'll take it with milk but sometimes that upsets my stomach I've noticed so I'll take it with water. Majority of the time I'll take my protein shakes with water and my mass gainer shakes with milk.

Post workout I will add milk for carbs. Any other time its just water. I do add some extra glutamine for recovery now and sometimes a little decaf instant coffee for taste.

It usually depends on what I have on hand or what I like best in terms of flavor. Most times I blend my powers with water. If I don't like the consistancy of the shake, I'll use a low-sugar soy milk. I also like to add fresh fruit.

I take my shakes straight up with water, as I usually drink my shakes with a pretty big meal. I don't want to be too filled up from my shake that I can't eat anymore!
