What Kind Of Certification Is Required

What Kind Of Certification Is Required

Postby Isabellas2007 » Mon Apr 30, 2012 6:14 pm

I know I am not in the best of shape, but have an interest in becoming a personal trainer. With this interest I am trying to find out what kind of certification works best. Is one present which gives you more pay or one which will allow you to have the best resources to work with? Also what kind of job market is present in this field.

I have always wondered this.
I don't think the Certification is long.
The thing about PT is you have to be a really
good sales person to do it efficiently and make money.
I wanted to do this, but I suck at sales soooooo no. If it was
all about Aerobics classes that would be great, but I think you have
a certain quota that has to be met.

My advice would be to gain a fitness instructor qualification and start work in a gym to gain experience in the industry before becoming a personal trainer. While you are working in the gym you can go on a personal trainer course. The personal trainer course I went on was a 6 month course. In my country we have a register for exercise fitness professionals which you can join once you are qualified.

I believe there is a nationally accredited NCAA approved certification course you can take. Google NESTA. Good luck.
