How do you eat Tuna?

Postby fitnessk » Sun Apr 29, 2012 1:23 am

I like tuna and prepare it in a couple different ways. I will eat tuna from a can without adding anything. I am a girl and do not feel lady like eating it right from the can literally so I usually transfer it to a plate. I like to eat tuna over lettuce. Sometimes I will make my own bread crumbs out of whole wheat bread and will make a tuna patty.

Light tuna has a significantly less mercury level than other types such as albacore. The only downside is it also has a lot less omega 3 fats. If you need a quick, canned protein source and are concerned with the mercury, grab the light tuna instead. Just make sure you get enough omega 3 from salmon, fish oil supplement, or krill oil supplement (more bioavailable than fish oil).

I'll put it in a small sub type bread. Add some lettuce and sprinkle some lemon on top and devour it! 8-)

Taste's very good (I personally think Tuna tastes bland) and is very healthy!

If it's flavored tuna - then I'm eating it with rice, pasta or bread. If it's fresh-water then just straight out of the can :)

I have tried making it a salad and even the kids like it with just oil/vinegar/spices or lemon juice and spices, or if you can find it (challenging) oils from other stuff than olives, avacado oil, lemon oil, orange oil, hemp oil are all good and light but give it the moisture needed to eat cold. Maybe add peper flacks for a kick or jalapino juice.

I like tuna (except tuna salad with noodles, yuck!). I eat in plain sometimes. I also like to make a tuna sandwich with a bit of mayo and whole wheat bread or pita. Making it into a melt on the stove grilled cheese style with a slice of cheddar is also really good.

Usually this but I typically add some mustard. If not that I will mix it in with pasta for some protein.

Cheese, lemon juice, hot sauce, all that stuff makes it go down way easier.

I eat it with a boiled egg. If it's early in the day I will have it with wheat bread. Sometimes i'd also eat the tuna over a spinach salad.
