Best UFC heavweight champion?

There have been a lot of talented fighters to hold the UFC heavyweight belt. From Randy Coutoure to Brock Lesnar, these fighters had the skills to beat any man come fight night. So who was the best heavyweight to compete inside the UFC?

I don't believe there is one. The belt has moving way too much to make a definitive choice.

The best was Randy Couture, the next prospect is Dos Santos and the worst was Brock Lesnar, he was a big joke to me.

I think Randy Coutoure takes the cake right now. However, if Junior Dos Santos or Cain Velasquez can put a run together then I think they are the clear front runners in the debate. The worst in my opinion was Tim Sylvia and just look at where he is now.

You just reminded me of Tim Sylvia. That guy was a joke, I can't even believe he won the belt, look at how he moves, he doesnt even look like a fighter. I guess there's just lack of talent in the heavyweight before than now.

I think randy Couture is the best heavyweight champion in the UFC. His resume speaks for itself, he won the light heavyweight championship twice and the heavyweight championship thrice! A true legend of the sport. In the future I can see Junior Dos Santo dominating, another excellent Brazilian champion.

Great insight Shaun. I concur on all accounts. I wish he was still fighting today!

Fedor could have been one of the greats if he was just smart to choose the UFC instead of Strikeforce while he was still young and in his prime.

The heavyweight division has never had a titleholder who just completely dominated and cleaned out his weight class the way other fighters like Anderson Silva and GSP has done. The most dominant heavyweight fighter I could think of is Fedor, though he never fought in the UFC and is clearly past his prime. I suppose time will tell whether JDS has what it takes to retain his belt.

I would have liked to see Fedor in his prime fighting in the UFC. I bet he could have reigned over the division for a little bit. Guess we will never know.
